The BondPro 4000T flaw detectors will be the first flaw detection instruments that utilize resonant low voltage operation to drive the composite probe elements (10 volts). This is made possible by having all elements of the circuitry, cable, and probes be in resonant harmony with each other. 10-volt operation is all that is required for excellent detection results in the default LPD (Low Probe Drive) setting. A higher voltage mode (HPD - High Probe Drive - 15 volts) is used for single- and dual-element ultrasonic probes when required to penetrate thicker and denser composite matrices. The low voltage requirements allow for decreased probe-to-surface scrubbing noise and increased battery life. Present commercially available instruments utilize 100VDC to 300VDC to achieve adequate flaw detection and produce unwanted scrubbing noise.
The BondPro 4000T flaw detectors are capable of full wireless internet and Bluetooth operation. This is a first-in-class capability. This allows for full remote software updates from the manufacturer. Data and screenshots of tests can be uploaded to a remote location through an internet connection right from the instrument.
The BondPro 4000T contains a full operating system similar to Windows. This allows the user to utilize a complete office suite to write reports, save screenshots, send and receive emails, and download and view instructional videos relating to specific job tasks. This is another first for the industry. The user also has full access to the internet, as well as access to a USB port for using thumb drives and other storage media to download or upload data and programs. The user will also have access to an external HDMI port for connecting to large displays for presentations and instruction.
The BondPro 4000T utilizes a modular design concept, which allows the use of off-the-shelf modules and custom-designed proprietary modules for easy troubleshooting and replacement when a failure occurs. This reduces the time and cost of repairs for the customer. (See below for detailed descriptions and specifications.)
The BondPro 4000T is the first NDT instrument to be built inside a completely self-contained case, where the case is the instrument itself. The case is watertight, dustproof, and airtight, with a pressure relief valve, and is crushproof under normal drops and heavy items falling on it. The case contains the battery system, instrument cage, display, probe, cable, keyboard, and mouse. The case is lockable and has been approved by the military and aircraft companies for storage and transport. The only external components are the power/charger port and the probe connector, both protected with dust caps.
