The All Wave BondPro 4000T is a nondestructive testing inspection system. It is designed to be used for the evaluation of the physical characteristics of both metallic and non-metallic materials utilizing sound. The instrument and probe system operates by introducing inaudible sound waves into a test specimen at a frequency range of 10 kHz to 50 kHz via our specially designed All Wave probe. The probe is held in direct contact with the material being evaluated whereby it transmits sound waves into the material and receives the resultant signal response for evaluation of the materials condition. The instrument was specifically designed to incorporate a simplified control layout which is ultimately more user friendly to the operating technician than existing comparable systems.

The BondPro 4000T system is designed to electronically introduce vibratory sound waves into a test specimen and subsequently process the received sound signal so as to identify discontinuities in various structures and components, which are fabricated from many different materials combined into a variety of matrices. The system utilizes a unique amalgamation of known electronic/computer commercially available hardware and software in tandem with our specially designed probe for the generation and subsequent display of the received signal. The specially designed probe is able to achieve a significantly higher level of sensitivity not currently available in the industry today. The hardware arrangement and software configuration of the instrument and probe are indigenous to and proprietary to All Wave Innovations, Inc. design specifications.

The BondPro 4000T system will operate on the theory of recognizing the inherent resonant frequency of the matrix of materials being examined and presenting an image on an electronic display. The image is representative of the physical condition of the test specimen undergoing examination. The user then extrapolates the information for a determination of the integrity of the material being tested, as compared to a known acceptable standard of the same material and matrix.
GENERAL CONCEPT OF THE BONDPRO 4000T NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING INSPECTION SYSTEM

The BondPro 4000T flaw detectors will be the first flaw detection instruments that utilize resonant low voltage operation to drive the composite probe elements (10 volts). This is made possible by having all elements of the circuitry, cable, and probes be in resonant harmony with each other. 10-volt operation is all that is required for excellent detection results in the default LPD (Low Probe Drive) setting. A higher voltage mode (HPD - High Probe Drive - 15 volts) is used for single- and dual-element ultrasonic probes when required to penetrate thicker and denser composite matrices. The low voltage requirements allow for decreased probe-to-surface scrubbing noise and increased battery life. Present commercially available instruments utilize 100VDC to 300VDC to achieve adequate flaw detection and produce unwanted scrubbing noise.

The BondPro 4000T flaw detectors are capable of full wireless internet and Bluetooth operation. This is a first-in-class capability. This allows for full remote software updates from the manufacturer. Data and screenshots of tests can be uploaded to a remote location through an internet connection right from the instrument.

The BondPro 4000T contains a full operating system similar to Windows. This allows the user to utilize a complete office suite to write reports, save screenshots, send and receive emails, and download and view instructional videos relating to specific job tasks. This is another first for the industry. The user also has full access to the internet, as well as access to a USB port for using thumb drives and other storage media to download or upload data and programs. The user will also have access to an external HDMI port for connecting to large displays for presentations and instruction.

The BondPro 4000T utilizes a modular design concept, which allows the use of off-the-shelf modules and custom-designed proprietary modules for easy troubleshooting and replacement when a failure occurs. This reduces the time and cost of repairs for the customer. (See below for detailed descriptions and specifications.)

The BondPro 4000T is the first NDT instrument to be built inside a completely self-contained case, where the case is the instrument itself. The case is watertight, dustproof, and airtight, with a pressure relief valve, and is crushproof under normal drops and heavy items falling on it. The case contains the battery system, instrument cage, display, probe, cable, keyboard, and mouse. The case is lockable and has been approved by the military and aircraft companies for storage and transport. The only external components are the power/charger port and the probe connector, both protected with dust caps.

Resonant Pitch/Catch Probe
The Resonant Pitch/Catch Probe (RPC-02) is a revolutionary probe that is capable of detecting flaws in nearly any material including solid graphite, honeycomb, solid laminates and metal-to-metal bonded structures. The trick to our success in finding flaws in a wide range of materials is our patented Tuned Resonant Inserts or TRIs at significantly faster scanning speeds with increased sensitivity and little or no scrub noise. Our probes are capable of detecting and discerning far side and opposite wall defects. The hand probe is designed to scan assemblies with fasteners installed. Every material has a physical property known as a resonant frequency. Our TRI’s are designed to resonate within themselves to closely match the physical  properties of most materials. The RPC-02 can be used in standard pitch/catch or pulse/echo mode. Pulse/echo mode replaces the current resonant probes on the market without the use of couplant. The unique design of our TRI’s increases the sensitivity of our probes from a measureable 5 to 10 times more than any probe of its type available on the market. Even with the remarkable increased sensitivity, the unique design has reduced the scrubbing noise to nearly undetectable levels. The reason for very low scrubbing noise is that the probe drive voltage requires only 100 millivolts to 20 volts peak to peak. The industry standard instruments have outputs from 200 Volts to 700 Volts peak to peak to drive their probes. The tip spacing of our probes is another important factor for eliminating noise which ensures complete acoustical wave coverage and maximizes the probability of flaw detection. Each TRI is assembled with precision, spring loaded pressure for consistent accuracy in production and in the field when testing.
